Apostle Paul wrote this, ''Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus. Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.'' (Hebrew 3:1-2 kjv).

We know from the Old Testament that the tribe of Levi were chosen by God to be part of the priesthood. Moses and his brother Aaron act as the High Priest and Aaron sons act as priest. As we explore the Bible, we learned that Priests were chosen by God to represent the people to God. In other words, priests were the spoke person of the Hebrew people to God. Also priests were responsible in managing the animal sacrificial being offered to God. The High Priest on the other hand is responsible in going to the Holy of Holies for the blood sacrifice they are required to do concerning sin offering. As time goes by, the priesthood was passed from generation to genaration.

''For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.'' (Hebrew 5:1 KJV). Here we see that the main responsible of the high priest is to offer sacrifice for sins for the people. Fact is once a year the high priest go to the holy of holies to offer animal blood as sins offering for the people. But of course animal blood could not remove or cleansed sins from our system. It only act as covering temporarily, and because it is temporary, animal blood sacrifice were done in regular bases. Now it is interesting to note that in Hebrews 7:23-24-25 it says, ''And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered (permitted) to continue by reason of death.'' (v24) But this man (Jesus) because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever livieth to make intercession for them.''

Jesus Christ as the only High priest who is alive today because of his resurrection, and his blood sacrifice shed at Calvary for the full payment of sins,he can now save any person who come to God by him. Animal blood sacrifice, and the Aaronic priesthood ceased to exist, and was replaced by the blood of Christ as the ultimate sin offering for all people. Since Jesus Christ is alive and in the right hand Throne of God the Father, He will be the High priest forever. Jesus Christ is the Mediator between God and man.
