The first century Church belief/doctrines

Going back in time, the political background of the Ist Century A.D. Church the Roman Empire was in control to the known world. The Ceasars also proclaimed as one of the many gods around that time. We can also add that the newly born Christians don't carry any banner or christian labels as we do today. Greek gods and goddesses were also being worship by the Grecians, and Judaism also add to the religious and political background during that time. Now Constantine and Mohammed were not born yet when Christianity came into the scene. They don't have no role nor contribution in shaping the religious landscape during the first century A.D. as the new born Christianity was rapidly spreading to all known world.

Now, What makes the new born Christianity diffirent from all religions during those time? Well, they follow Jesus Christ teaching and proclaimed that He is the God man, the Savior, the only mediator between God and man. They placed their faith in Christ as the only Savior who can give eternal life to all humanity provided they will believed.

Again, we need to put in mind that these people who followed Jesus Christ were eye witnesses of his death, burial and resurrection. Most of them were at the feet of Jesus Christ when he was crucified, and they witness the resurrection of their Savior. Peter and John went to the tomb of Jesus just to find out that the tomb was empty. The heavy stone was moved and the tomb was wide open, and as they investigated they saw the napkin was folded and was set on the tomb neatly. Of course, Jesus Christ had showed himself to them for at least forty days, before He ascended back to heaven and sat down on the right hand of the Father. Ten days after his ascention, the Holy Spirit (the comforter) came and took residence into all believers sealing them as the prize possesion of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the official grand opening of Christianity as we know it. Evangelism begun and the writing of the New Testament was in placed before our eyes. The preaching of the Lord Jesus Christ death, burial and resurrection became viral, and many came and believed the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior. As they believed the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, they were added to the Church by the Lord Himself.

As they continue living in Christ Jesus, biblical doctrine were being framed, and biblical moral values were being written down and were obeyed by the followers of Christ. The biblical doctrine were set and being taught by the apostles to the newly born Church.

Where did these Biblical doctrine come from we may asked? Well, it come from the Lord Jesus Christ Himself, for the Bible says, ''All scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.'' (2 Timothy 3:16 kjv). You see, the Bible was given to us by God (God breathe) for our own good and benefit. When the Bible says that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, at least we know where we stand as far as God is concerned. The Bible continues on to say, ''the penalty of sin is death.'' No one want to die, and if there is that possibility to live forever, won't we want to find out how can we find solution to our problem. This is how I look at this scenario, if sin is the cause of death, without sin, we can live forever, because without sin, there is no penalty which is death. The problem was that, we all have sinned, therefore we are all bound to die sometime.

Though, there is sin and death hovering on our forehead, there is the promised of Eternal life through faith in Christ alone. The answer to sin and death is the Lord Jesus Christ, because he is the one who hold the power of life that can reverse the effect of sin in us. Let's remind ourselves that Jesus Christ came to seek and to save the lost (spiritually dead people.) What God is saying to all his listeners was this, though, the penalty of sin is death, my Only Begotten Son would be the one who will bear the sin on his body, that we might live forever. He is the Lamb of God who will take away sin from all who will believed on him as the Savior.

I don't expect anyone to believed what was written in the Bible, but the information is out, and if you want to live forever as God promised, then there is only one way to deal with it: Placed your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior today.
