The origin of the Church

The Model Church;

A model church does not come from churches founded by men, but Christ himself. Over the years we have seen churches erected by men, though they look astonishing from the outside, their belief, and doctrines were far beyond what the Lord Jesus Christ entended a church to be. What then is a model church should look like from the inside out?

The founder of the Church/Origin

Matthew 16:18, ''And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.''

It is clear from this passage of Scripture that Jesus Christ is the originator and the founder of the Chruch, and not Peter. Yes, apostle Peter had a big role in progapagating the Church during his time, but the builder is the Lord Jesus Christ every step of the way. If we are wondering who is the rock mentioned in Matthew 16:18 we can go back to the Old Testament and see who the Rock was.

''Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress. Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.'' (Psalms 71:3-4 KJV). In the Old Testament economy, the nation Israel understood perfectly who the Rock was, he is their God, the deliverer, the Savior that will free them from the hand of evil men. There are many great kings that rose up in ranks in israel, but failed to deliver the people from the enemies, and if there is someone who can deliver them, it is the Rock, the Almighty God.

The Lord Jesus Christ as the Rock is willing, and able to deliver, saved, and translate anyone from darkness to light as long as the person will come to him for deliverance.

The Church then in its clear sense was founded by Christ not Peter as the RCC claimed over the years. If people can only understand and take heed that the Church was founded by Christ, they can avoid those non sense pratices such as religious rituals, traditions, supertitious beliefs, praying to Mary, Praying using rosaries, praying for the dead, sacraments, Sto-nino and looking at the Pope as the head of the church.

In Acts 2:47 it says ''Praising God, and having favour with all the people, and the Lord added to the Church daily such as should be saved.' Again, we have to note that Jesus Christ is the one adding people to the Church as they are getting saved. This explain Nicodemus encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. In John 3:1,2,3 it says, ''There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'' Noticed what the Lord Jesus Christ said to Nicodemus, You must be born again, or you cannot see the kingdom of God. (paraphrase). What is the Lord Jesus Christ talking about here? In context, being born again has something to do with life which God can only give. When a person recieved the Lord Jesus Christ as his/her Savior, God by virtue of His promised (John 3:16) that person is given an everlasting life. At this period of time, that person is born again from above, or from God. God had birthed that person giving him everlasting life as a gift. Jesus Christ responsibility is to add that person (saved) to the Church, or the Body of Christ.

The Holy Spirit role to all this process was that, He sealed that person and take residence and nuture the new believer to grow in faith.

Here we see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit working together for the good to all who will placed their faith in His Only Begotten Son as the Savior. Therefore the Church is consist of born again (saved) believers who were spread out to all corners of the Continent. Although, the scope is Universal, the implementation is localized in any given communities.

Now we cannot downplay in this dicussion that there were numerous denominations around the world with different interpretations of what is the Church consist of, but we can discerned what really a biblical church would consist of. We have already stablished a simply biblical truths that Jesus Christ is the origin, and the founder of the Church, therefore the true biblical Church in our time are those who follow strictly the doctrinal stand of the Bible. To deviate from the biblical doctrine and formulate some kind of rituals, worship, sacraments, teachings apart from what the Bible already revealed would be tantamount in undermining the true God whom we want to Worship.

Therefore any churhes around the world that does not strictly follow what the Bible, or ignore the authority of the Bible all together would be avoided at all caused. You don't want to be part of a an apostate church, because it will just give you heartache, prostrations, and will not in anyway shape or form glorify God. You want to be part of a local church that glorify God not the pastor, the Pope or the people in general. Many churches today are purpose driven, work driven, humanitarian driven, ecuminecal driven which glorify the ego of men, and not God. It is like Jesus was locked out from the inside and the people are worshipping god whom they do not know.

Now if the people really want to worship God in a Church setting, they should seek those biblically sound Churches around the world. One key word to discern a true Church is when Jesus Christ is the focus of the worship, not some kind of humanitarian purpose driven, or work driven, social driven churches. There are many churches today that they do use the name of Jesus Christ, but at a closer look, they are purpose, work, humanitarian driven church. Jesus Christ was only a prop to the cause they want to achieved.
